Parenting apart coaching
These sessions, although we embed the need for positive
co-parenting in our approach to all service delivery, are specifically about facilitating and agreeing safe and child-centred arrangements for contact.
A worker is allocated to each parent/carer. Often parents/carers need reassurance about parenting capacity, managing trust issues and proving long term commitment to the child. Other areas such as attending school events, health appointments, extended family events and booking holidays may also need resolving. Each parent/carer has an initial meeting and assessment, where appropriate the child’s view will also
be sought.
Sessions can be held with both parent/carers and their allocated workers or held on a shuttle-basis. A Parental Agreement plan will be produced and parent/carers coached through its implementation.
